KeePassXC 2.7.11 adds attachment preview, KeeShare group sync and password auto-generation
KeePassXC 2.7.11 has been released, introducing several new features and fixes to this cross-platform, open source password manager. Among the most noticeable changes, users can now view image, HTML, and Markdown attachments directly inside the inline viewer. Additionally, the release allows editing of text file attachments from within the application.
Building on these enhancements, the update adds a new database merge confirmation dialog for increased safety during merges, and extends KeeShare with support for groups, further enabling database sharing for teams or multi-user environments. An option to automatically generate passwords for new entries also streamlines password creation workflows for users.
In addressing user experience issues, this version resolves problems such as the main window not restoring its previous geometry after launching in the system tray, along with fixes to secure input mode on macOS. Following these fixes, macOS users gain new, platform-specific Window and Help menus. The release also includes a refreshed Liquid Glass icon for a more modern visual touch on Mac computers.
Separately, KeePassXC version 2.7.9 has achieved CSPN security certification from the French National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI), demonstrating compliance with first-level security standards.
