Kagi launches Quick and Research AI assistants for advanced research tasks and analysis
Kagi has introduced two dedicated research AI assistants, Quick Assistant and Research Assistant, to streamline and improve user information retrieval. Quick Assistant, available to all users, delivers direct and concise answers within five seconds while incurring minimal cost. In contrast, the Research Assistant is offered exclusively to ultimate tier subscribers and specializes in in-depth, diverse analysis for more thorough results, typically taking over twenty seconds per query.
Following this launch, users can access both assistants from the Kagi Assistant web application or directly in their search bar through bang shortcuts for greater convenience. Each assistant’s core benefit lies in its capacity for effective research: the system automatically determines suitable queries, conducts parallel searches across multiple languages when needed, and synthesizes findings into comprehensive answers.
Building on their advanced functionality, Kagi’s AI assistants employ different base models for specific tasks. The company benchmarks leading machine learning models and dynamically selects the most competent one to address each request. Beyond web search and retrieval, the assistants leverage additional tools such as code execution for calculations, image generation, and direct access to custom APIs, such as Wolfram Alpha and live news feeds.
