TrueNAS 25.10 launches with major UI refresh, NVMe-oF, GPU acceleration, and VM HA

TrueNAS 25.10 'Goldeye' is now officially available, introducing a Linux-based platform centered on OpenZFS. The update includes a redesigned interface with refreshed screens for Updates, Users, Datasets, and the Storage Dashboard, making system navigation more intuitive. The new Users screen provides clearer account details and simpler workflows for easier administration.

Networking sees a major upgrade with NVMe over Fabric (NVMe-oF) support: NVMe/RDMA for Enterprise users and NVMe/TCP for the Community Edition, enabling terabit-class performance and 400GbE interface compatibility. Network configuration management has also been improved, allowing smoother transitions between DHCP and static IP setups.

Virtualization adds Secure Boot for virtual machines and broader disk format compatibility, including QCOW2, RAW, VDI, VHDX, and VMDK. Enterprise users gain high availability with automatic VM failover between nodes, while new open GPU kernel module support from NVIDIA enables GPU acceleration for containers and apps, including workloads using the Blackwell architecture.

Core storage improvements include enhanced encrypted snapshot replication, better memory handling to avoid crashes, Direct I/O for VM performance, and improved I/O scaling.
