Opera’s new AI agentic browser, Neon, is now rolling out with a subscription model

Opera Neon, the new experimental AI agentic browser from Opera first previewed in May 2025, is now officially being released to the public as a subscription-based product. Access starts with the Neon Founders program, with invites rolling out to waitlisted users at $19.99 per month. This new product aims to set itself apart from Opera’s other offerings with advanced AI features, joining other AI-driven browsers such as Perplexity Comet, Dia Browser, or even Google Chrome with its recently announced agentic capabilities.

Neon's main feature, Tasks, provides self-contained workspaces that preserve context across websites, AI chats, documents, and searches. Within a Task, users can chat with Neon Chat or use Neon Do to perform actions like opening pages, booking, or shopping directly inside the browser. First previewed as Browser Operator, Neon Do has been refined for clarity and speed, runs locally without cloud authentication or password sharing, and shows actions in real time with options to pause or take control.

Opera Neon also introduces Cards, modular tools that guide AI outputs for tasks like product comparisons or meeting notes. Users can build their own, draw from community versions, and combine them for customized results. The Make tool enables creation of websites, games, videos, reports, and more with source files and shareable links, continuing to work offline through virtual machines on Opera’s European servers. Core browser features such as ad blocking, VPN, bookmarks, and sidebar integrations are also included.
