Notesnook 3.3 has been released with search filters, editor stats, and new pricing plans

Notesnook, the open source, encrypted note-taking application, has launched version 3.3.0. This release brings new search filters, editor statistics, and a series of bug fixes aimed at improving editor performance and reliability.

Alongside these feature additions, the update includes a comprehensive overhaul of Notesnook's pricing structure. Abdullah Atta, one of the main developers of Notesnook, says that, while nobody likes price hikes, the current pricing plans are not sustainable, and they have to raise prices in order to keep moving forward.

The prior single-plan approach has been retired. In its place are three new subscription tiers: Essential, Pro, and Believer. The Essential plan offers 1 GB of storage per month and unlocks all editor features for $1.99 monthly or $19.99 annually. While the Pro plan increases storage to 10 GB per month and allows files up to 1 GB in size for $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year, the Believer plan is aimed at heavy users, providing 25 GB of storage at $8.99 per month or $89.99 per year.

For current Pro subscribers, existing pricing and feature access remain unchanged regardless of the update. However, new users and those with inactive subscriptions will need to subscribe at the new rates to access Pro features. The developers state these price increases are needed to keep Notesnook fully private, investor-free, and ad-free. Following the subscription changes, the release also refines the free plan and discontinues free trials without credit cards due to prior misuse.
