Mozilla rolls out improved Firefox profile management to keep browsing activities separate
Mozilla is rolling out a new profile management feature in Firefox, starting October 14, giving all users the ability to create multiple separate spaces. Each profile comes with its own bookmarks, logins, history, extensions, and themes, aiding users who need to separate work, school, or personal browsing. Previously, profile management was limited to Firefox’s about:profiles page and was less visible to most users, even though the functionality had existed since at least 2018.
With Firefox 138’s April 2025 launch, Mozilla introduced improved tools for managing profiles, but these changes were initially only available to a subset of users. The company noted that this gradual rollout was intentional, but by mid-October, the enhanced profile management will become available to everyone.
Alongside these updates, Mozilla collaborated with people with disabilities to design a more accessible interface, aiming to make profile management genuinely easy to use for all. These improvements help users set clear boundaries, protect personal information, and make online experiences less overwhelming.

Looks like it would be quite useful...
I remember a friend using various profiles under Firefox but I tried and I couldn't. If this feature is finally drop is something good.
Finally. Floorp had that forever.
Like the article says, Firefox has had profiles for several years, but making it more user-friendly is a great improvement.
I hope they don't remove the “firefox -P profileName” option, as even with this update, this is how I prefer to launch my profiles by binding them to keyboard shortcuts.
This is a really good update. We wanted Profiles for Firefox for so long.
