Linux Mint releases LMDE 7 “Gigi” based on Debian 13
LMDE 7, Linux Mint Debian Edition, “Gigi” has been released, providing a Debian-based alternative to standard Linux Mint while aiming for a familiar user experience. Designed to mirror the Linux Mint experience without relying on Ubuntu, LMDE 7 is built on Debian 13 “Trixie”. This release features Cinnamon 6.4.13 desktop environment, Linux 6.12 LTS kernel, and support for OEM installations. It also brings improvements to fingerprint authentication, libadwaita compatibility, and Wayland session.
