Immich 2.1.0 refines slideshow shuffle order, improves stack uploads, and more

Immich 2.1.0 arrives just two weeks after the 2.0 stable milestone, continuing the development pace for this open source, self-hosted photo and video management platform.

The web interface benefits from a smarter shuffle algorithm in the slideshow feature. Photos now appear in a better-distributed, less repetitive order. Editors gain more precise control over photo metadata, as the date change modal now supports input for both seconds and milliseconds.

In workflow enhancements, users interacting with stacks will see a new “Add upload to stack” menu. This feature launches a file picker, making it possible to upload items directly into a stack — streamlining photo organization.

Following these improvements, a new in-app notification type alerts users of shared album invitations and updates. Clicking on these notifications takes users directly to the referenced album, supporting timely engagement with group libraries.

Mobile users will notice that the search page infinite scroll no longer resets to the top when new content loads, making large collection browsing less disruptive. Rounding out the release are minor enhancements, numerous bug fixes, updated translations, and improved documentation.
