Google adds Gemini-powered scheduling feature to Gmail for easier meeting organization
Google has launched a new Gemini-powered “Help me schedule” feature in Gmail, aiming to streamline the process of arranging meetings. When Gmail detects that users are trying to coordinate a meeting time within an email, a “Help me schedule” button will appear in the toolbar. Clicking this button will trigger Gemini to analyze both your Google Calendar availability and the context of the email to suggest optimal time slots.
These suggested times are not static. Users can further refine them by removing options that do not work or by adding alternative times. Once the preferred times are chosen, users can insert them directly into their Gmail message. Upon receiving the email, the recipient may select a time that suits their schedule. When a selection is made, a Google Calendar invitation is automatically sent to both participants and added to their calendars.
While Gemini’s scheduling tool introduces efficient, AI-driven coordination, it currently supports scheduling only between two individuals. Group scheduling is not available at launch, setting some limitations for users who regularly organize meetings with multiple participants.
