Fastmail launches desktop app with native features on Mac, Windows, and Linux
Fastmail has introduced a dedicated desktop app, now available for Mac, Windows, and Linux users. Announced by Chief Product Officer Neil Jenkins, this launch expands Fastmail's accessibility as privacy-focused email and calendar hosting.
The standalone app delivers feature parity with Fastmail’s web and mobile versions. Users gain full offline access to email and calendar functionality, allowing reading, management, and composing of messages while disconnected. According to Fastmail, all changes sync automatically when users reconnect to the internet.
Building on this new accessibility, the app lets users set Fastmail as the default email client. Email links across the system now open directly in Fastmail, and the app can be launched from the dock, taskbar, or platform-specific app switchers for convenience.
Additionally, the desktop app integrates with each platform’s native features. Notifications, menus, and system interactions follow familiar conventions on macOS, Windows, and Linux, ensuring the app fits seamlessly with users’ existing workflows.

Will be interesting to see if it's more of a wrapper or purely native, and how it supports offline access.
its not free its subscription based its closed source and it looks like it might be using Electron... what a crappy product...
I am so glad this exists, I've been hoping for it for years.
