Element launches Element Pro, a Matrix-based enterprise messaging client for organizations

Element has launched Element Pro, a new Matrix-based frontend messaging client designed for workplace and public sector use, built to work alongside its enterprise backend, Element Server Suite Pro. Offered as a unified package, the two deliver secure, sovereign, and interoperable communication for organizations, particularly governments seeking alternatives to proprietary systems.

Element Pro builds on the foundation of Element X, introducing server-managed brand customization that allows organizations to apply their colors across Android, iOS, web, and desktop versions. It also supports whitelabeling, enabling custom app names and icons while staying fully compatible with upstream updates. IT teams can manage settings centrally through Mobile Device Management (MDM) and enforce behavior via server-side policies.

For security, Element Pro adds certificate pinning, server-side content scanning, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP), with analytics and error reports routed internally to maintain data control. Deployment options include public app stores or internal provisioning, even for branded versions. It also integrates directory-based access control through Active Directory, LDAP, or SCIM, syncing user roles and permissions automatically. Upcoming updates will add a modules interface and enhanced policy controls.
