DietPi 9.18 adds new device support, LazyLibrarian software, dashboard update, and more
DietPi 9.18 arrives as the latest update for this streamlined Debian-based Linux distribution aimed at single board computers. This release expands compatibility with new hardware, now supporting the NanoPi R3S, R3S LTS, R76S, and M5 models.
In application support, DietPi 9.18 introduces LazyLibrarian, a tool designed for managing ebook and audiobook collections. This provides users with a practical replacement for Readarr, which is no longer actively maintained. On the system front, the dashboard has been reworked to improve default security, address frontend and backend node handling, and enhance maintainability. Users will find the dashboard’s interface and core features familiar, as most changes are under the hood.
Elsewhere, the drive manager now includes support for Xen virtual block devices, expanding possibilities for those running DietPi in virtualized environments. SPI bootloader updates are now managed more generically, activating the update option whenever U-Boot offers it and a relevant SPI storage device is detected.
DietPi 9.18 closes with a series of bug fixes aimed at boosting system stability and overall usability for both new and existing users of this minimal operating system.
