Telegram lastest update adds collectible gifts, improved search & third-party verification

Telegram has launched its first major update of 2025, introducing the ability for users to convert digital gifts into collectibles with unique appearances, custom effects, and exclusive perks. These collectibles can be traded or sold on NFT marketplaces, and over 20 existing gifts can be upgraded into more than 1,400 unique collectible variants using Telegram Stars.

The update also enhances service messages, like call notifications and profile photo updates, by allowing reactions. Additionally, the search functionality has been improved with new filters that enable users to refine results by categories such as "Private chats," "Group chats," and "Channels." The update also introduces a third-party verification process for businesses, organizations, and public figures, providing custom icons and detailed verification messages to help reduce scams and misinformation by clearly identifying legitimate accounts.

Telegram Premium users can now personalize folder names with emojis, offering a choice between minimalistic and expressive designs. This feature adds to the over 30 Premium-exclusive options available, such as faster downloads, voice-to-text, chat translation, and access to custom emojis.
