Solus 4.7 brings enhanced support for more NVIDIA GPUs and Flatpak by default
Linux distribution Solus has launched its latest version, 4.7, dubbed Endurance. This release features the Linux kernel 6.12.9, with an option for the LTS kernel 6.6.70. The update brings refreshed software offerings, including Firefox 134.0.2, LibreOffice 24.8.4.2, Thunderbird 128.6.0, and Mesa 24.3.3. A new Software Center replaces the previous version, now supporting Flatpaks by default and offering enhanced app descriptions. The ISO images have expanded firmware support for more NVIDIA GPUs.
Solus 4.7 supports various desktop environments: Budgie 10.9.2, GNOME 47, KDE Plasma 6.2.5, and Xfce 4.20. In terms of multimedia playback, the Budgie and GNOME editions include Rhythmbox for audio and Celluloid for video. The Xfce edition uses Parole for multimedia, while KDE Plasma offers Elisa for audio and Haruna for video playback.
