ShareX 17.0 released with enhanced scrolling capture, notification sounds, and much more

Popular screen capture utility ShareX has released version 17.0, introducing a range of enhancements and bug fixes. This update features significant improvements to scrolling capture, including automatic exclusion of 50px from the bottom during captures to avoid horizontal scrollbars, and an “Auto ignore bottom edge” option for better static part identification. A new “Copy” button has also been added to the scrolling capture window.

Notification sounds are now included for various actions such as screen recording, scrolling capture, and several tools and actions like “Pin to screen,” “Screen color picker,” and “Disable/Enable hotkeys.” Users can also set custom sounds for completed actions.

The update ensures tasks are saved to history, even if uploads fail or stop. It also removes the adf.ly URL shortener and Google Photos image uploader, following changes to Google Photos APIs. Backward compatibility for .sxcu files from before version 12.4.0 has also been dropped.

Additional improvements include Arabic language support, new hotkeys, and various other enhancements and bug fixes.
