MX Linux unveils MX-23.4 “Libretto” based on Debian 12.7 “Bookworm” and Linux kernel 6.10

MX Linux has released MX-23.4 “Libretto”, the fourth update of the MX-23 series, bringing numerous enhancements and fixes. This version is based on Debian 12.7 “Bookworm” and updates the Xfce, KDE, and Fluxbox ISOs to the 6.1.106 Linux kernel. Key updates include Xfce 4.18 core packages and revisions from both Debian and MX repositories.

Notable changes in MX-23.4 include an improved MX Packageinstaller that now displays all installed packages in the enabled, test, and backports tabs. MX-live-usb-maker defaults to luks2 encryption for encrypted live USBs, and MX-usb-unmounter has UI improvements and a new option to show only when a removable device is inserted.

Pipewire-setup-mx has been refined for better PipeWire/WirePlumber startup under SysVinit, especially benefiting KDE users. MX Tweak introduces a KDE option to manage Plasma Discover’s systray updater notifier. AHS users gain from updated firmware packages backported from Debian Sid, and the Fluxbox ISO now includes job-scheduler as a front end for cron.

Additionally, the update encompasses bug fixes, language updates, and new applications in the MX test repository. The MX Raspberry Pi Respin has also been updated with the latest packages from MX and RPiOS repositories.
