Baserow 1.27: faster formulas, custom themes, calendar sync, and enhanced data retrieval
Baserow has released version 1.27, featuring substantial performance and functionality improvements. Formulas now load and process up to 600% faster, significantly reducing the time required for row creation, modification, and deletion, particularly in tables with interdependent formulas. The update also introduces new theme settings in the Application Builder, allowing users to customize Table and Input elements for a more tailored interface.
External calendar synchronization is now available, enabling users to sync their Baserow Calendar View with other applications, ensuring deadlines and events are consistently up to date. Data retrieval has been enhanced with the ability to join data via the API, facilitating dynamic lookups from multiple tables in a single call. For self-hosting users, an official Helm chart for Kubernetes deployment simplifies installation and management in containerized environments.
Additional upgrades include an improved row selection modal that supports multiple row selections, keyboard navigation, and search-as-you-type functionality, streamlining the workflow for selecting linked rows. Users can now change the Primary field of a table, adapting to evolving data structures. Text-based lookup fields are filterable, making it easier to apply specific conditions and find relevant information across related tables. Nested collection elements have been added to the Repeat element, supporting hierarchical structures like department lists with nested employees or e-commerce product categories. The dashboard and sidebar have also been rebranded for a more intuitive layout, featuring workspace-specific dashboards, suggested templates, and additional resources to enhance the user experience.
