Privacy-focused offline maps app Organic Maps is now even better on iOS and Android

Organic Maps, the privacy-focused and open source offline maps app for Android and iOS, has released its August update. This update incorporates OpenStreetMap data from August 10 and enhances routing for bad surfaces and missing speed limits. New features include street name announcements for pedestrian navigation and traffic light icons in car navigation mode. Selected places with Wi-Fi now display an emoji symbol 🛜.

Bug fixes address issues like incorrect selection of bookmarked places and map rotation snapping to the north angle. The app now stores 50 recent searches, up from 10, and properly exports modified bookmark names in GPX format. The update also includes platform-specific enhancements for iOS, Android, and Android Auto, along with improved and updated translations for many languages.
