Opera GX launches interactive live wallpapers with real-time system metrics monitoring

Opera GX has introduced a new series of "Live Wallpapers" that incorporate real-time system metrics monitoring, allowing users to track their PC’s performance directly from the wallpaper. These wallpapers, created with the GameMaker engine, display metrics such as CPU, GPU, RAM, and network consumption in real time, enhancing both the visual appeal and functionality of the Opera GX browser.

Users can customize which system metrics they want to monitor through these Live Wallpapers, with four initial options available: "Uni’s Room," "Fish Stream," "Spaceship," and "Dragon Mountain." Each wallpaper offers unique interactions and displays different types of system information. For instance, "Uni’s Room" features a virtual cat named Uni that responds to user actions and system metrics, with GPU fan speed influencing the speed of ceiling fans and CPU usage reflected by a panicking news anchor on the TV within the wallpaper. Battery life affects the day-night cycle, and disk usage is represented by clutter levels in the room.

Additional Live Wallpapers are planned for release, including an upgraded version of the popular "Arcade Alley" from last year. These updates promise to enhance the Opera GX experience further, merging aesthetic appeal with practical features, making it an attractive option for gamers and tech enthusiasts.

Checked if it's available for Linux... alas... Well might try it someday while I still use Win10. Lots of integrations that are useless for me though
