OpenAI expands free access to DALL-E 3 for ChatGPT users, but limits apply
OpenAI has announced that it will allow free ChatGPT users to access its image generation tool, DALL-E 3, expanding access beyond the previously exclusive ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise tiers. Now, anyone using the free version of ChatGPT can generate up to two images per day by selecting the "GPT-4" model and providing a text prompt.
By broadening the accessibility of DALL-E 3, OpenAI is enabling a wider range of people to explore creative possibilities without the need for a paid subscription. However, it is worth noting that the limitation of only two free images per day remains quite restrictive compared to other options like Stable Diffusion, DiffusionBee or Leonardo.Ai.
It’s worth noting that in addition to the ChatGPT offering, there are other alternatives to access DALL-E 3 for free with a greater number of uses than what OpenAI provides, such as Microsoft Designer Image Creator and Microsoft Copilot for the web, which also serve as free options for AI-driven image generation.
