Raycast v1.79.0 introduces an Auto Quit apps feature, Chat Presets Deeplink copying & more

The latest Raycast update v1.79.0 introduces a new feature for "Auto Quit" applications, which automatically terminates apps after 3 minutes of inactivity to reduce distractions from non-essential applications like chat or social media. Users can enable or disable this feature for specific apps through the root search or settings.

The update also brings improvements to the AI Chat Presets, allowing users to copy a deeplink to quickly initiate new AI Chats with predefined settings. Display consistency has been improved for the “Next/Previous Display” command, and the Calculator function now include specifying fallbackText in the deeplink of the “Calculator History” command and recognizing 6-digit hex colors without a # prefix.

Support has been expanded for additional text-based file types, including .go and .ts, in AI interactions. Other improvements include a reduced memory footprint and a new “Cache Diagnostics” tool for gathering logs related to image memory and disk caching. Window management updates now allow text field value changes in the Create Command sheet using specific key combinations, with preferences saved to user defaults.
