ElevenLabs reader app debuts iconic celebrity voices for AI narration

ElevenLabs has added new "iconic voices feature", featuring voices from celebrities such as Judy Garland, James Dean, Burt Reynolds, and Sir Laurence Olivier to their newly launched Reader App, made possible through partnerships with the estates of these artists.

The Reader App, launched last week, converts digital texts like articles, PDFs, ePubs, newsletters, and e-books into emotionally rich, context-aware voiceovers using AI technology. These iconic voices are exclusively available for individual streaming within the app, allowing fans to experience works like L. Frank Baum’s "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" voiced by Judy Garland or Sherlock Holmes narrated by Sir Laurence Olivier.

ElevenLabs aims to enhance content accessibility and enrich user experience, with plans to introduce more renowned voices in the future, ensuring the legacies of these stars continue to attract and excite fans through innovative technology.
