Clipboard manager Maccy releases version 2.0 beta with overhauled interface and storage

Clipboard manager Maccy releases version 2.0 beta with overhauled interface and storage

Maccy, the lightweight and open-source clipboard manager for macOS, has launched its version 2.0 beta, introducing several noteworthy updates. This new version transitions the user interface from AppKit and NSMenu to SwiftUI and NSPanel, aiming to provide a more modern and responsive experience. Additionally, the storage system has been overhauled, moving from Core Data to SwiftData, which may impact performance and data handling.

The 2.0 beta update is compatible with macOS 14 Sonoma or newer and maintains backward compatibility with Maccy 1.x. However, it does not support backward compatibility with Maccy 0.x versions. Users will also notice various appearance enhancements and bug fixes in this release. Despite these improvements, there are several known issues, so users should proceed with caution when installing the beta or consider waiting for the stable 2.0 release.

Been using Maccy for a few years now, definately my favorite clipboard manager. I'm sure it's not possible, but I would love if it had an iOS version that had auto-access the way Maccy on macOS does. It's great to copy several things in a row on iPhone with Macbook open, since all of them then appear in Maccy. Pictures, text, passwords (yeah, sorry not sorry). Looking forward to this 2.0 release but in my experience the 1.0 version works completely fine on Sonoma.
