Spotify announces another price hike for US subscribers, effective next month

In a recent announcement to its users, Spotify has revealed another price increase for subscribers in the United States. Starting next month, users will receive emails detailing the new prices for Premium, Duo, and Family plans. Spotify Premium will now cost $11.99 per month, up from the $10.99 increase announced last year. The Duo plan will jump by $2, from $14.99 to $16.99 per month, while the Family plan will rise from $16.99 to $19.99 per month.

These changes represent an increase of between 20 and 30 percent within a year. In its announcement, Spotify explained the price hike with the following, “So that we can continue to invest in and innovate on our product features and bring users the best experience, we occasionally update our prices.”

This price hike follows a similar increase for international subscribers announced last month, indicating that the adjustments are not limited to the US market. If these new rates are beyond your budget, consider exploring our list of Spotify alternatives.
