Apple unveils Apple Intelligence and major OS updates at WWDC24
At WWDC24, Apple unveiled a slew of updates including Apple Intelligence, iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15 Sequoia, watchOS 11, visionOS 2, and tvOS 18. Apple Intelligence, a new personal intelligence system, integrates generative models with personal context to enhance user experience across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This system is embedded in iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, and further integrates with Siri for a more cohesive experience.
iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia will also feature integrated ChatGPT access, enabling users to leverage its image and document-understanding capabilities without switching between tools. All new OS versions are now available in preview through the Apple Beta Software Program, with a public release slated for this fall.
macOS 15 Sequoia introduces iPhone Mirroring, significant updates to Safari, new games, and Apple Intelligence. iOS 18 offers extensive customization options, a major redesign of Photos, and enhanced connectivity features. iPadOS 18 includes Apple Intelligence, a new Calculator with Math Notes, advanced handwriting tools in Notes, and more customization options. watchOS 11 brings the Vitals app, training load metrics, customizable Activity rings, and the Translate app to Apple Watch. visionOS 2 introduces spatial photos, new navigation gestures, and developer tools for spatial computing. tvOS 18 enhances cinematic experiences with InSight, Enhance Dialogue, and improved subtitles.

I switched back to Android recently, looks like just in time. I don't consent to having anything at all be ingested by AI unless I manually initiate it. Furthermore, I've seen a few discussions on HackerNews stating that "Comes with an AI integration!" is now more of a red flag than a boast, as it was previously.
I'm not trying to diss Apple, as they are my favorite "big tech" company, but how can I trust that my data won't be processed if it is baked into the entire operating system? How can I trust or prove that the data stays locally on my device? I'd rather decline the whole process and do it on my own terms.
