Popular BitTorrent client Transmission has released version 4.0.6 with many bug fixes

Transmission, the lightweight and powerful BitTorrent client, has released version 4.0.6, bringing numerous bug fixes and improvements. This update enhances the parsing of HTTP tracker announce responses and resolves an issue causing invalid TR_TORRENT_TRACKERS environment variables in user scripts. It also addresses a bug where the alt-speed-enabled setting had no effect in settings.json, and fixes the GTK client's “Use authentication” option not saving between sessions. Additionally, filename sanitization for single-file torrents has been improved.

For macOS users, the update restores Sparkle support for handling beta version updates and resolves an issue preventing the app from starting when managing many torrents with Time Machine enabled. A Qt-related bug affecting piece size description text and slider state in the torrent creation dialog has also been fixed.

Transmission 4.0.6 includes several web and GTK client-related fixes, along with improvements to logging issues in the daemon. The update also incorporates various other small enhancements and bug fixes, further improving the stability of the software.
