Spotify client Spotube releases v3.6 with Spotify Connect and alternate lyrics provider
Spotube, an open-source Spotify client available on desktop and mobile platforms without requiring a Premium subscription, has recently unveiled its 3.6 version. This latest update is packed with new features and enhancements designed to elevate the user experience.
Spotube 3.6 now supports Spotify Connect, enabling users to control Spotube playback and select local output devices from other devices within the same network. This development offers increased convenience and flexibility in managing music playback.
The 3.6 version also integrates the LRCLIB lyrics provider as a fallback, coupled with an improved caching system, which collectively contributes to a smoother user experience.
The new update goes a step further by adding personalized recommendations on the Spotify homepage. It also introduces a user profile page and a device filtering feature to force high frame rate on Android devices.
Spotube 3.6 further enhances user convenience by improving caching based on Riverpod and introducing search history support. The update brings the app closer to a wider audience by adding translations in Czech and Thai languages.
In addition to these enhancements, Spotube 3.6 also addresses several bugs and introduces minor improvements to ensure a seamless and enjoyable user experience.
Comments
Don't be fooled: Spotube is NOT a Spotify client. It looks like Spotify, uses your Spotify account information to build playlists and recommandations, but all the music streams come from Youtube. The music is NOT streamed from Spotify's service.
