Minecraft v1.20.5 'Armored Paws' update introduces Armadillos, Wolf Armor, and more!

The latest Minecraft v1.20.5, dubbed the Armored Paws update, introduces several new features that enhance gameplay. Among the new elements are armadillos, neutral mobs found in Savannah and Badland biomes. When threatened, these creatures curl into protective balls and yield armadillo scutes when brushed, which are used for crafting.

The update also adds eight new wolf variants, each with a unique coat found in different biomes, and a new wolf armor has also been introduced. Crafted using armadillo scutes, this armor can be dyed like leather armor and provides significant protection to wolves, reducing almost all damage until the armor wears out.

Changes to the Minecraft Launcher introduce a new Home tab for easier navigation and feature access. The update also improves the game's overall stability and performance with numerous bug fixes and changes to existing features, including new sounds, improved hopper performance, and a renaming of "scutes" to "turtle scutes."
