Framer unveils canvas updates for enhanced 3D editing and animation experience

Framer has recently unveiled a series of 'Canvas updates' to improve daily editing experiences. These updates cover a wide range of enhancements in editing, previewing, and animating, particularly for 3D workflows, including dynamic rotation and resizing cursors that adapt to user rotation and align with the layer's angle.

The update also enhances the preview functionality by removing the necessity for animations to restart when first opened or after edits. This is paired with improvements in automatic nesting, now working flawlessly with layers that feature both 2D and 3D rotation.

The Effect edit mode on Canvas now provides real-time rendering for 3D selections, improving the overall editing experience, and drawing with any of the Layout tools is now possible within 3D space. You can check Framer's video demonstration if you want to learn in detail how these new improvements work.
