Discord launches new in-app poll creation feature with up to 10 answer options
Discord has introduced a new feature allowing users to create polls within the app, designed to gather opinions on various topics. Each poll can accommodate up to 10 different answer options. The content of these polls, including questions and answers, is monitored by AutoMod filters to ensure compliance with community rules.
Users can create a poll on the desktop version by clicking the plus sign in the text field of a text channel, voice channel, or group message, selecting "Poll", and filling in the poll's details. These include the topic, potential answers, duration (ranging from 1 hour to 1 week), and whether multiple answers can be selected. The process is similar on mobile devices, where users tap the plus sign in the relevant channels or messages.
Users with permissions can initiate polls in various channels like text channels, direct messages, group messages, and announcements. They can set the poll duration and end it early if needed, with poll deletion requiring the removal of the entire message. It's worth mentioning that anonymous voting is not currently available.
