Educational software GCompris has released v4.0 with new activities and enhanced graphics
The educational software suite from KDE, GCompris, has unveiled its latest version, 4.0. The release introduces new activities, enhancements, additional translations, and bug fixes.
The suite now houses 190 activities, an increase from the previous version, with the addition of eight new ones. These include Grammar Classes and Grammar Analysis, both designed to improve understanding of grammatical classes. Calcudoku introduces an arithmetic game requiring players to fill a grid with numbers based on certain rules. Guess 24 challenges users to find the number 24 using provided numbers and operators. Frieze requires the reproduction and completion of different friezes. Read a Graduated Line and Use a Graduated Line are activities involving the identification and placement of values on a graduated line, respectively. Lastly, Adjacent Numbers focuses on understanding the numerical sequence.
A significant achievement for this version is the completion of graphic rework to fit the guidelines, a task that has taken almost nine years.
GCompris 4.0 also broadens its linguistic accessibility, adding translations in Bulgarian, Galician, and Swahili. Furthermore, the update includes bug fixes and graphical improvements across multiple activities.
