CrossOver 24 released with Wine 9.0 and support for more games on macOS

CodeWeavers has unveiled CrossOver 24, an update to its software enabling the operation of Windows applications on macOS and Linux. Built on Wine 9.0, Wine Mono 8.1.0, vkd3d 1.10, and MoltenVK 1.2.5, CrossOver 24 introduces several user interface updates. Users can now drag and drop executables into CrossOver to run or install them, triggering the Run Command. By clicking Run, the application will execute. Additionally, users can save commands as a launcher on Mac or create a launcher on Linux, generating a launcher icon for the chosen executable in your bottle.

CrossOver 24 also provides the option to alter the directory where your bottles are stored, a feature beneficial for those wishing to keep large Windows applications on an external drive. The latest release also brings compatibility for a range of games on Mac, including Planet Zoo, Warframe, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Mafia: Definitive Edition, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, Horizon Zero Dawn and Anno 1800.

In the Linux environment, CrossOver 24 now supports new Office 365 installers, and has resolved crashes associated with PowerPoint 2016/365. However, it's worth noting that only the 32-bit online Office installers are functional.

Last but not least, CodeWeavers is offering a deal code WineNine to save 24% off the price of CrossOver+ and renewals until March 2, 2024.
