Apple launches new free Sports app for scores, stats, and betting odds from major leagues

Apple has launched a new Apple Sports app for iPhone, that aggregates scores, team stats, betting odds, and other information from major sports leagues. The app currently supports a range of leagues such as NBA, NHL, NCAA, Premier League, MLS, Bundesliga, LaLiga, Liga MX, Ligue 1, and Serie A, with future plans to include additional leagues like MLB, NFL, NCAAF, NWSL, and WNBA.

Apple Sports serves as a hub for sports fans to stay updated on scores, team performance, and upcoming games, from soccer to american football and basketball. The app also enjoys convenient integrations with other services from the company like Apple TV+, offering users easy access to live sports, keeping them informed within the same ecosystem.

This comes as an interesting alternative to other recognized platforms like Sofascore, LiveScore, or Onefootball. Although it should be noted that, while the app provides betting odds, it doesn't support actual betting, and users have the option to disable this feature.

Apple Sports is a real-time scores and stats app, designed for quick and easy access to live sports data. It provides live scores for a wide range of sports, keeping users updated on the go. Notable alternatives to Apple Sports include Sofascore, FotMob, and FlashScore, all offering similar live score services.

More like this please, Apple. Instead of introducing features nobody really wants or needs, focus on simple common inconveniences and fix them for us. Googling for scores is easy enough but annoying and adds friction. This simple app looks great to me.
