YouTube TV is hiking prices again and now costs the huge amount of $82.99 per month
Google has announced a significant price increase for YouTube TV, attributing the change to rising content costs. As of December 12, 2024, the new price for a Base Plan is set at $82.99 per month. Existing customers will maintain their current pricing until January 13, 2025, after which they will transition to the new rate. New subscribers will immediately be subject to the updated pricing.
The Base Plan continues to offer more than 100 channels, a DVR with unlimited storage, support for up to six accounts per household, and three concurrent streams. Despite the price hike, the 4K Plus feature remains an additional $10 add-on, with users advocating for its inclusion in the base package. Those with paused memberships will automatically be charged the new rate upon reactivation. This adjustment marks a 137% increase from the service's original launch price in 2017.

Unfortunate, YTTV is a very solid product on a technical basis, it's probably the best way to get linear TV. Unfortunately the costs are being driven up by content providers (Disney/ABC/ESPN) and sports carriage fees. I expect many people will flee to cheaper options, including the "high seas".
Google has completely lost its mind!
So, we can expect the price will go down if it becomes cheaper to run, right?
LOL
The 12 people who have that are going to be upset!
