OpenProject 15.1 released with custom fields of type hierarchy, improved UI, and Zen mode

OpenProject has launched version 15.1 of its open source project management software, bringing a variety of new features and improvements. Among the highlights is the introduction of a custom field type hierarchy, which facilitates multi-level selections in work packages. This enhancement allows for better organization and navigation of complex data, enabling users to categorize information more effectively with hierarchical structures and short identifiers.

The update also includes a complete redesign of the Relations tab in work packages using the Primer design system. This redesign features a new dropdown menu for directly selecting relation types. Additionally, the Meetings module index page has also been revamped with Primer, offering improved readability and a modernized appearance.

Version 15.1 introduces the ability for users to enforce manual page breaks in work package descriptions, ensuring content like signatures can be consistently placed on the desired page. Furthermore, a new Zen mode is available, allowing users to concentrate on a specific page by hiding all other menu items and displaying the page in full screen.
