OBS Studio 31.0 introduces NVIDIA Blur filters, YouTube Chat features, and much more

OBS Studio has released its latest version, 31.0, bringing a host of enhancements to the popular open-source video capture and streaming software. Key updates include the introduction of an NVIDIA Blur filter and Background Blur, alongside support for v210 format for AJA device capture. Users can now preview scrollbars and zoom/scale indicators, and enjoy Amazon IVS service integration and QSV AV1 Screen Content Coding. The update also incorporates first-party YouTube Chat features and refines scene item management with relative coordinates.

Additional features include the ability to split NVIDIA Audio Effects from Noise Suppression and a change in the Image Slideshow's Playback Mode from radio buttons to a dropdown. The update disables the unsupported Automatic Scene Switcher on Wayland for Linux users and improves macOS Virtual Camera error messages. On Windows, Display and Window capture functions have been adjusted to avoid capturing the first found display or window by default.

Support for Ubuntu 22.04 has been removed, and the NVENC implementation has been refactored for better performance. A warning has been added for Window Capture when attempting to capture WinUI 3 applications with BitBlt. The release also provides numerous other enhancements and bug fixes, further optimizing the user experience for streamers and content creators.
