Mixxx 2.5 brings Qt6, BPM undo, enhanced library management, and new effects

Mixxx 2.5 has been released with the transition to Qt6, improving performance and compatibility but requiring macOS 11 or later, Windows 10 build 1809 or later, and Ubuntu 22.04 or later. A C++20 compiler is now required. The update includes engine features like an undo function for BPM/beats changes, a beatloop anchor, and a Rate Tap button for tempo synchronization. Waveform enhancements include slip mode visualization and improved smoothness with GL ES support.

The software's interface has seen several updates, allowing users to hide the menubar with the Alt key, toggle cue popup types, and use a reworked vinyl control interface. The command-line interface now includes a --start-autodj option. Effects improvements include new Compressor and Glitch effects, with native support for Audio Unit plugins on macOS. Library management features have been expanded with new shortcuts and enhanced track color customization.

Additionally, controller mapping updates have been made for several popular controllers, and preferences enhancements include setting the load point as 'First hotcue' and an improved MIDI input editor. Visual aids have been enhanced with an improved waveform overview and the ability to change waveform types without skin reloads.
