Google unveils Veo and Imagen 3 on Vertex AI for advanced video and image generation
Google has unveiled the availability of its latest video and image-generation models, Google Veo and Imagen 3, on Vertex AI. Veo is now accessible in private preview, enabling businesses to create high-quality videos from basic text or image prompts. Imagen 3, set to be available to all Vertex AI customers next week, delivers the most realistic and high-quality images from text prompts, improving upon previous versions in terms of detail, lighting, and artifact reduction.
This development allows teams to incorporate advanced video and image-generation capabilities into their AI workflows, offering a wide range of applications, particularly in marketing and advertising. Additionally, Google Cloud distinguishes itself as the first hyperscaler to provide a video model to its clientele.
Why are those companies even going after artificial intelligence as a whole anyway? Besides the fact that it's the new craze/trend/etc. Yes, I understand the fact that AI is here; I understand it's not perfect, but why promote these AI products if they're gonna have flaws? Shouldn't they work on improving AI in general just to make sure it's safe and won't spit out random, hurtful nonsense?
(And I understand this is a hypocritical statement because I favor Brave Search's Answer with AI, but I believe this is a different case. Here, I think Google is immediately jumping into the new trend and being careless about the potential dangers and consequences, especially in regards to data privacy.)
