Ghost enhances comment system with direct replies and improved engagement features

Ghost has announced an upgrade to its native comment system, enhancing user interaction and engagement. The update introduces the ability to reply directly to a reply, facilitating more organized and in-depth discussions without cluttering the comments section. Users can now sort comments by best, newest, or oldest, with the default setting highlighting the most liked comments.

Additionally, a call-to-action at the top of the comments section encourages reader participation, aiming to convert casual visitors into members and free members into paying subscribers. Interacting with the comments through likes or replies now prompts users to sign up or upgrade their membership. Furthermore, comments without replies will now be completely removed when hidden or deleted, eliminating empty placeholders.
