Tails 6.10 fixes support for Trezor wallets in Electrum, updates Tor Browser & Thunderbird
Tails has announced the release of version 6.10 of its portable operating system, designed to safeguard users against surveillance and censorship. This update integrates Tor Browser version 14.0.3 and Thunderbird version 128.4.3, enhancing secure browsing and email functionalities.
Key fixes in this release include improved support for Trezor hardware wallets within Electrum, addressing previous compatibility issues. Additionally, the update resolves a problem that hindered the Tails desktop from opening on systems with limited memory resources. Another significant change is the disabling of telemetry data saving in Thunderbird, aligning with Tails' privacy-focused ethos.
Users can perform automatic upgrades from Tails 6.0 or later to version 6.10. In cases where an automatic upgrade is not possible or if Tails fails to start post-upgrade, a manual upgrade is recommended.
