Tor Browser 14.0 launches with “New circuit” feature on Android, and extended 13.5 support
Tor Browser 14.0 has been released, marking its first stable version built on Firefox ESR 128. This update includes a year's worth of modifications from the Firefox development stream. A notable change for Android users is the introduction of the New circuit for this site feature. Previously, users could request a New identity through a persistent notification, but the new feature offers a more precise approach.
Compatibility for Tor Browser 14.0 is limited to Windows 10 or later and macOS 10.15 or later. Users with older systems, such as Windows 7, 8, and 8.1, as well as macOS 10.12 to 10.14, will continue to receive critical security updates via Tor Browser 13.5, based on Firefox ESR 115.
The latest version also comes with several known issues, particularly affecting Windows and Android users. These issues can be reviewed on Tor Browser's GitLab project for more detailed information.
