Rufus 4.6 beta can now bypass Windows 11 24H2 in-place upgrade restrictions
Rufus has released version 4.6 beta, introducing several enhancements to its widely-used USB formatting utility. Notably, this update includes a setup.exe
wrapper designed to bypass Windows 11 24H2 in-place upgrade restrictions, streamlining the upgrade process for users with compatibility issues. Additionally, the update replicates timezone regional options and sets local account passwords to not expire by default.
The beta version also addresses previous errors, such as issues with writing compressed VHD images and invoking Rufus from the PowerShell command line. Furthermore, it enhances the check for revoked UEFI bootloaders, now supporting Linux SBAT, Windows SVN, and cert DBX. These improvements aim to provide a more seamless experience for all Rufus users.
