Plane 0.23 brings real-time collaboration & version history to the project management tool

Plane, an open source project management software, has launched version 0.23, introducing several new features and enhancements. This update brings real-time collaboration to Pages, allowing multiple users to edit a page simultaneously without losing changes. The new version also includes a revamped sidebar with a Your Favourites section for quick access to frequently used pages, projects, and modules.

Version 0.23 enhances version control by saving every change to version history, enabling users to restore any of the last 20 edits. Guest users face restrictions, as they can no longer create or edit issues within projects, although they can still manage issues in Intake. Viewers have been merged into the Guest role with a toggle option for viewing project issues. Admin role management has been refined, allowing admins to edit roles at their level only.

The update redefines Inbox as Intake and introduces a new Inbox for notifications, which are now displayed chronologically with enhanced filtering options. Intake features improved Accept and Discard flows and a preview pane for quick issue scanning. New API endpoints have been added, enabling member additions to workspaces and projects, and file attachments to issues with external identifiers.

Additional improvements include the ability to toggle the privacy of pages, enhanced profile aesthetics, smoother drag interactions in the page editor, and expanded image viewing capabilities. The update also includes various other enhancements and bug fixes.
