Kagi enhances image search with AI filters and labeling for authentic results
Kagi has announced an update to its search engine, focusing on improving the quality of image search results amid the rise of AI-generated images. The new AI image filter feature aims to give users more control by downranking images from sites with high AI-generated content. This is intended to prioritize authentic, human-created images in search results.
Kagi has also introduced an AI image labeling system, which adds a badge to thumbnails likely to be AI-generated. This helps users quickly identify AI content without removing it entirely. Users can further refine their search by excluding websites known for AI-generated images. However, since there's no precise method to identify AI images automatically, the feature relies on website reputation, meaning some AI content may still appear. Users can also personalize their search experience by blocking or lowering the rank of sites with unwanted content.
