Nitrux 3.2.1 'se' debuts with enhanced security and many software updates
Nitrux, the Debian-based Linux desktop distribution, has launched its latest version 3.2.1 “se”. The codename “se” stands for “safer environment”, reflecting the system-wide application of the password policy from Calamares and additional security modifications.
The latest release is powered by Linux Kernel 6.6.9 and features a host of updated software. Among these are Firefox 121, KDE Plasma 5.27.10, OpenRC 0.52.1, and the AMD Open Source Driver for Vulkan v-2023.Q4.2.
Nitrux 3.2.1 introduces several enhancements to the Calamares installer and a refactored code for the NX Desktop command-line utility, known as desktop-config. The default window switcher has been changed to Cover Switch from Big Icons, which is activated by pressing Alt+Tab.
The new release also comprises updates to Maui Applications configuration files, including new fonts and other default settings. Updates have also been made to the KDE Plasma global themes Nitrux, Nitrux Dark, and Nitrux Mix.
Additionally, Nitrux 3.2.1 incorporates the KDE Wacom tablet KCModule. This module provides a GUI for the Wacom Linux Drivers and expands it with profile support, facilitating different button/pen layouts per profile.
