Apple rolls out iOS 17.3 with new 'Stolen Device Protection' security feature

Apple has released iOS 17.3, featuring a new security feature named Stolen Device Protection for iPhones, aimed at deterring unauthorized access to iCloud by requiring fingerprint scanning or Face ID for specific actions such as accessing saved passwords or applying for an Apple Card.

The Stolen Device Protection feature is context-aware and activates only in unfamiliar locations, including a security delay for sensitive actions like altering the Apple ID password or iPhone passcode. To enable the Stolen Device Protection feature, users must navigate to the Settings app, choose Face ID & Passcode, input their device passcode, and switch the feature on.

In addition to Stole Device Protection, iOS 17.3 also introduces collaborative playlists to the Apple Music app, as well as new security and bug fixes.
