Visual Studio Code 1.82 released with TypeScript 5.2, Dev Container and more

Microsoft's Visual Studio Code, a widely used free and open source code editor, has unveiled its 1.82 version for August 2023. The latest release offers a plethora of new features and enhancements, including accessibility improvements, built-in port forwarding, sticky scroll updates, and advanced diff editor features, among others.

In addition to these, the update displays by default the Command Center on the title bar, facilitating quick file opening or command execution. It also introduces WebAssembly debugging, new TypeScript refactorings, a new Python Formatting topic, and an enhanced version of the GitHub Copilot extension.

The 'Remote Development' extension for VS Code, also from Microsoft, now supports the use of a Dev Container, remote machine via SSH or Remote Tunnels, or the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) as a comprehensive development environment.

Apart from these features, VS Code 1.82 also incorporates numerous other enhancements and bug fixes, further refining the user experience. More information in the official announcement here.
