Kagi introduces 'Small Web' initiative to spotlight non-commercial web content
Kagi, the ad-free and independent search engine launched a year ago by the creators of the Orion web browser, has introduced a novel concept named Kagi Small Web. This initiative, announced after a series of enhancements to Kagi's search results, is designed to spotlight fresh content from the “small web”, a term to describe the non-commercial segment of the web. This encompasses individual-created content, shared for expression or knowledge dissemination, not for profit.
Kagi Small Web achieves its goal by collating new content, posted within the last week, from a select list of blogs. This content is then made available through various channels: in Kagi search results, on the Kagi Small Web website, via the Kagi Small Web RSS feed, and through their search API.
Currently, Kagi Small Web has a curated list of nearly 6,000 authentic websites that cover a broad spectrum of interests. Notably, the entire Kagi Small Web project, including the curated websites list, is open-source, with the code available on Kagi’s GitHub page.
