Glaxnimate launches version 0.5.4 with Adobe After Effects files support and much more
Glaxnimate, the open-source vector graphics animation program, has launched version 0.5.4, introducing a range of new features and fixes. The latest version includes an overshoot keyframe preset, enabling users to edit the keyframe transition beyond prior limits.
In addition, version 0.5.4 offers support for Adobe After Effects project files (.aep), enabling animations created in AE to be opened directly in Glaxnimate. Not all AE features are supported, but the majority of animations should function properly.
The upgrade also simplifies the use of SVG files as assets, as importing a non-animated SVG now uses the same duration as the current composition. Support for importing SVG with animated path shapes and animateMotion has also been added.
Improvements have been made to Lottie import, with Glaxnimate now supporting loading Lottie files with radial gradient highlights, split positions, and auto-oriented layers. The zig zag import function has also been enhanced.
The new release has introduced several improvements to the open/save flow, alongside several fixes to animation rendering, ensuring animations appear as intended.
Version 0.5.4 also includes minor features and bug fixes, and an experimental arm64 APK download for Android, enabling users to use Glaxnimate on their mobile devices.
