Facebook Introduces Multi-Profile Feature for Personalized Social Media Experience
Facebook has unveiled a new feature that allows users to create multiple personal profiles, thereby streamlining and personalizing their social media experience. This new feature enables users to compartmentalize their interests, such as food or family, with each profile having its own unique Feed and content.
Switching between profiles will not require logging in each time, offering a seamless transition. The multi-profile feature aims to simplify content sharing and viewing across different aspects of a user's life.
The roll-out of this feature has commenced globally and will continue over the coming months. However, at launch, some Facebook features, including Dating, Marketplace, Professional Mode, and payments, will not be available for additional personal profiles. Messaging, though, will be accessible within the Facebook app and on the web for these profiles, with plans to expand Messenger support in the future.
Eligibility for creating an additional personal profile is currently limited to adult accounts. Upon creation, these profiles will have default settings, with notification and privacy settings from one profile not carrying over to others. Moreover, some settings, such as post visibility and friend request controls, will be managed individually for each profile.
